Rory O'Connor is Board Chair and Senior Research Fellow of The Global Center, a non-profit tax-exempt educational foundation incorporated in 1990. In addition to supporting Globalvision's not-for-profit endeavors — such as documentary films, broadcast series, and online sites such as the MediaChannel — The Global Center also acts as a fiscal sponsor for a wide variety of outside projects, ranging from nationally broadcast films and PBS specials such as After October 7 and Indigenous Wisdom, a six-episode docuseries, to media advocacy groups like the Sustainable Media Center and community organizations such as Lagim Tehi Tuma in Ghana and In Cultured Company in Washington Heights, New York, which focus on media skills training, designing accessible educational tools and resources, and cultural exchange.
